Join Repower America!

I have just put myself on the map.

I shared why I want our country to solve climate crisis, and the We Campaign is displaying everyone’s stories from across the country on a single map.

We need to show our leaders how many people are demanding action. Please join me and thousands of others:

The We Campaign is a project of The Alliance for Climate Protection — a nonprofit, nonpartisan effort founded by Nobel laureate and former Vice President Al Gore. The goal of the Alliance is to build a movement that creates the political will to solve the climate crisis — in part through Repowering America with 100% clean electricity within 10 years.

Brain Games Keep Minds Sharp

Here is an article about software the keeps seniors mentally fit. I’ll bet our websites also help keep brains fit through activity. — Mary L

Margaret Henry, 82, a resident of Mount Pleasant Retirement Community in Monroe, selects her answer while playing a memory game on the Dakim BrainFitness System, which was developed to help seniors reduce their risk of memory loss and dementia. Click to enlarge

MONROE — Clad in purple, Margaret Henry strode into a room at Mount Pleasant Retirement Community for a 20-minute workout.

Henry, 82, wasn’t in a gym. She was in a computer lab. With a touch-screen computer ready to go, Henry punched in her name and went to work on Dakim BrainFitness, a cognitive fitness system designed to help seniors keep their minds sharp.

The system prompted Henry to do puzzles, word association games, math problems and other mind-stimulating activities.

Henry uses it daily.

“I’m addicted to it,” she said, laughing. “I find 20 minutes in my day, every day to do it.”

Brain fitness software is a part of a $225 million industry that is used in homes, classrooms and retirement communities nationwide, according to SharpBrains, a market research company. more …

Web Designer becomes a Community Builder

Read how I turned a web design business into a web development business using FREE software and cheap reseller hosting. Then click the headline to vote for my story!

I opened a small web design business in 2001 from a used book about HTML. When I become an Assistant HOA Manager later that year, I began producing websites for their community associations. They were small static informational sites that rarely received traffic, and were of little use to homeowners in the communities. When I left after two and a half years, I was able to retain about 20 sites for my business. more …

‘End the Fed’ Rallies Spur Honest Money Efforts Across States

THE 39 END THE FED RALLIES held across America recently inspired
two Milwaukee neighborhoods to create their own local currency.

The tanking economy—run with Federal Reserve debt notes that represent the captivity of the people’s money and credit by entrenched private bankers—is aggravating an increasing number of Americans who are fed up with living in “Fedville.”

The Chicago Tribune, to its credit, acknowledged the local currency idea in nearby Milwaukee. Tribune reporter Erika Slife, on Dec. 3, wrote: “They may be talking funny money, but it’s not funny business. . . .Residents from the Milwaukee neighborhoods of Riverwest and East Side are scheduled to meet . . . to discuss printing their own money. The idea is that the local cash could be used at neighborhood stores and businesses, thus encouraging local spending. The result, supporters hope, would be a bustling local economy, even as the rest of the nation deals with a recession.”

This money is scrip, which has a long and noble history.

Conventional reporters usually fail to realize that the real “funny money” is the “official” money that the U.S. Treasury prints for the private Federal Reserve for pennies on the bill, regardless of the denomination. more …

Eli Lilly, Zyprexa & The Bush Family The Diseasing Of Our Malaise

The most important story about Eli Lilly is that Lilly’s two current blockbuster psychiatric drugs-Zyprexa and Prozac-are, in scientific terms, of little value. It is also about how Lilly and the rest of Big Pharma have corrupted psychiatry, resulting in the increasing medicalization of unhappiness. This diseasing of our malaise has diverted us from examining the social sources for our unhappiness-and implementing societal solutions.
Much of the scientific community now acknowledges that the advantage of Prozac and Prozac-like drugs over a sugar-pill placebo is slight-or as Prevention and Treatment in 2002 defined it, “clinically negligible.” When Prozac is compared to an active placebo (one with side effects), then Prozac is shown to have, in scientific terms, zero value. Moreover, many doctors and researchers now warn us about the dangers of Prozac. Psychiatrist Joseph Glenmullen’s Prozac Backlash (2000) documented “neurological disorders including disfiguring facial and whole body tics indicating potential brain damage…agitation, muscle spasms, and parkinsonism,” and he stated that debilitating withdrawal occurs in 50 percent of patients who abruptly come off Prozac and Prozac-like drugs.

Vaccines and Autism – The science and the politics

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Children of the current generation receive 24 mandatory vaccinations. A generation ago, only 10 were required.

Through vaccinations, children receive 400x the amount of mercury deemed safe by the FDA.

The Hep B routinely given to newborns contains so much mercury preservative that it would normally only be considered safe under standard medical guidelines to give to a 275 pound adult.

Why is this going on?

Politics and corruption.

In the White House, in Congress, in the FDA, in the medical establishment and in the pharmaceutical industry. video …
